What to do if you break down
- Get off the carriageway if you can, switch on your hazard warning lights and put on a hi-vis vest if you have one.
- On a motorway or dual carriageway, leave the vehicle from the left-hand doors and wait behind the barrier where possible.

- Tell us the vehicle make, model, registration and whether the wheels turn and steering unlocks.
- Stay somewhere safe and visible until we arrive; we will confirm where the vehicle is going.
