MOT Testing & Vehicle Servicing in Greenock

Keep your car or van legal, safe and reliable. We carry out professional MOT testing and routine servicing, and we explain exactly what your vehicle needs — and what can wait.

MOT testing

Book Your MOT With a Trusted Local Garage

An MOT is a legal requirement once your vehicle is three years old, and it is the best check you get each year on whether your vehicle is roadworthy.

Our MOT testing covers the areas set out by the DVSA, including lights and signalling, steering and suspension, brakes, tyres and wheels, seatbelts, the body and structure, exhaust and emissions, the driver's view of the road, and registration plates.

If your vehicle needs work to pass, we will talk you through it in plain English before anything is done. No pressure, no jargon and no work you have not agreed to.

Servicing that suits your mileage

  • Interim service — oil, filter and safety checks for higher-mileage drivers
  • Full service — a more thorough inspection with fluids, filters and wear items
  • Pre-MOT checks so you know where you stand before the test
  • Brake, battery, clutch and cambelt advice based on your vehicle's history
  • Service light reset and a clear record of what was carried out

Why regular servicing pays off

Servicing catches small problems while they are still small. Fresh oil protects the engine, healthy brakes stop you safely, and spotting a worn part early is almost always cheaper than replacing a failed one — plus it helps your vehicle sail through its MOT.

Common MOT questions

How long does an MOT take?
Most MOTs take around 45 minutes to an hour. Give us a call and we will book you a slot that suits you, including Saturday mornings.
Can I drive my car if the MOT has expired?
No — driving without a valid MOT is an offence, except when driving to a pre-booked MOT test or to a garage for repairs. Book early to avoid getting caught out.
What happens if my vehicle fails?
We will explain each failure item, what it will take to put right and the cost, then retest once the work is complete.
How early can I get an MOT?
You can have the test up to one month (minus a day) before your current certificate expires and keep the same renewal date.
